Operator, not a consultant

Senior product leadership, exactly when you need it.

I help founders and investors turn product organisations into engines of business growth — without the cost or the six-month wait of a full-time hire. Fifteen years building and launching products in threat intelligence, brand protection, and cybersecurity.

Who I serve

Founders & CEOs

Hands-on product leadership for companies where engineering is busy but the product isn't compounding. Vision, roadmap, team shape, and the discipline to say no.

For teams of roughly 10–150 people, post-product-market-fit or fighting to reach it.

Investors

Independent product due diligence and portfolio support. An honest read on whether the product organisation can carry the plan the deck describes.

For VC and PE partners who need a decision, not a 60-page deliverable.

Why now
01

Your product leader just left

A search takes six months. Roadmap decisions, hiring, and stakeholder trust cannot wait that long.

02

Shipping fast, moving nothing

Velocity looks healthy and revenue doesn't follow. The work is real; the prioritisation isn't tied to outcomes.

03

You need product judgement, not a hire

Board-level product strategy is needed now, and a full-time senior package isn't justified yet.

What I do
01

Fractional / Interim Head of Product

For
Growth-stage companies and portfolio businesses
Shape
3–12 months, 1–3 days a week

Embedded ownership of product direction. Strategy set, roadmap re-cut around outcomes, team structure fixed, and cross-functional delivery running on its own by the end of the engagement.

  • Product strategy and outcome-based roadmap
  • Team structure, hiring, and coaching
  • Discovery and delivery cadence that sticks
  • Board and exec communication
02

Product Audit & Due Diligence

For
Investors, boards, and CEOs
Shape
Fixed 2–3 week engagement

A time-boxed read on product health: what is being built, why, how fast, and what it will cost to change course. Written for people who have to make a decision.

  • Market and positioning alignment
  • Roadmap credibility and delivery risk
  • Team capability and process debt
  • Prioritised, costed recommendations
03

Founder & Product Advisory

For
Founders and first-time product leaders
Shape
Ongoing, a few hours a month

A sparring partner with no agenda in the room. Pressure-testing decisions before they become quarters, and coaching the people who have to carry them.

  • Bi-weekly strategy sessions
  • Roadmap and pricing reviews
  • Board prep and narrative
  • Hiring support for product roles
How it works
01

Intro call

Twenty minutes. What's actually happening, what you've already tried, and whether I'm the right fit. If I'm not, I'll say so.

02

Scoped diagnosis

A short written proposal: the problem as I understand it, what I'd do first, how long it takes, and what it costs. Fixed scope, no retainer creep.

03

Embedded

In your tools and your standups within days, not weeks. Progress visible in the first fortnight, and a handover plan from day one.

How I think
  • Outcomes over output. A roadmap that lists features is a to-do list, not a strategy.
  • Close to engineering. At heart I'm an engineer who codes occasionally; product decisions made away from the people building them don't survive contact.
  • Evidence before conviction. Talk to customers weekly, decide with what you learn.
  • Translate in both directions. My job is to make the engineering work legible to the business, and the commercial reality legible to engineering.
  • Adopt the orphans. Every company has a stalled product nobody owns. Give it a home or shut it down — leaving it to rot costs more than either.
  • Manage uncertainty gracefully. Calm on the surface, working hard underneath, so the team can keep making decisions.
  • Leave capability behind. Success is your team doing this well after I've gone.

A short note is enough. I reply within one working day, and the first conversation costs nothing.
